Research found that 8 out of 10 who rated their marriages as very unhappy (the most discontented), were happily married to the same person 5 years later!

Can you believe it? Eighty percent of the very unhappy were happy!

Some argue, “But if I divorce and get in another marriage I can be happier sooner.” But only 1 in 5 reported that they were happier in a new marriage.

If you had $100,000 to gamble, would you bet on something that had a 20% chance of winning (1 in 5) or an 80% chance of winning (8 in10)?

No brainer, unless you think you’re an exception to probability. Therefore, bet on your marriage. Though you feel very unhappy, you have an 80% chance of being happy in the next five years. If you remarry, only 20%.

TRUSTING THE FACTS, NOT FEELINGS, IS A GOOD THING!

Yes, I know that you may not believe your unhappiness with this person can turn happy. As we say, “the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.” So, logically we conclude: if I am unhappy today, I will be unhappy tomorrow.

But such a conclusion does not hold up against the evidence. The fact is you have an 8 in 10 chance of succeeding!

Trust the facts, not your feelings.

WHAT CAUSED THE VERY UNHAPPY TO BECOME HAPPY?

Ecclesiastes 9:9 states, “Live happily with the woman you love…The wife God gives you is your reward for all your earthly toil” (NLT).

• As a husband, God wants you to enjoy life with your wife. That's a fact.
• As a wife, God wants you to respond to your husband's sincere desire to live happily with you.

Remember, to God your marriage license has not expired. Among other reasons, He knows you will soon be happy!
