The #1 Way to Get Your Spouse to Stop Offending You [Video]

Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female…?” This is the question Jesus asked, referring to the account in Genesis 1 where God creates man and woman to be husband and wife. We might ask ourselves the same question.

I use a word picture to show these male and female differences. God designed women, so to speak, to look at the world through pink sunglasses, which color what she sees. She inserts pink hearing aids and these decipher what she hears. She speaks through a pink megaphone and expects everybody to know what she means by what she says. After all, her girlfriends know what she means by what she says!

Not Wrong – Just Different!

As a wife, you notice a man and a woman walking hand in hand. You see a couple sitting together in the park, talking face to face on a bench. You beam all the way through your friend's wedding. As you pass the hospital, you see new parents coming from the maternity ward, and your mind races back to the birth of your child and what you felt as a couple.

A Cross-Cultural Message

Occasionally someone will say to me, “Emerson, I’m contemplating your theory of love and respect…and I think you may be on to something.” I smile at this but I also clarify that this isn’t “my theory”…this is a command from the all-wise God in Ephesians 5:33, and this is why it is a message that resonates around the world. May those of us who were blessed with an honorable Dad remember to give him the gift of respect this Father’s Day.

In the course of tragedy in my life I’ve finally

Blue Sunglasses

As a husband, you notice matters of honor. The movie Saving Private Ryan, about the invasion of Normandy, tears you up as you fixate on the incredible heroism. You follow the world champion sports team, feeling part of these guys who say, "We respect one another more than anybody on the planet. We'd do anything for one another. One for all, all for one! We're going to be number 1 again!"

Feminists Reject The Biblical Phrase "The Weaker Vessel"

My daughter Joy, who is 26 years old, asked me to summarize for her what I say at the conference about Peter's reference to a wife as the "weaker vessel."

The importance of this phrase cannot be overlooked. Some in the secular feminist movement reject Orthodox Christianity because of the phrase "weaker vessel" (KJV) used by the apostle Peter in 1 Peter 3:7 about wives. The whole verse says, "You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered" (NASB). Because of the description of the wife
